Materuni waterfalls and Coffee tour with Local Lunch

This unforgettable day tour invites you to step into authentic village life in Materuni, the last traditional settlement before entering Kilimanjaro National Park. Tucked into the lush green slopes of the mountain, Materuni offers a rich blend of history, nature, and warm local hospitality rarely experienced by ordinary visitors.

Your journey begins with a scenic drive through coffee and banana farms before setting out on a guided hike to one of the region’s most breathtaking waterfalls, cascading dramatically into a crystal-clear pool below. Along the way, your local guide shares stories of Chagga traditions, medicinal plants, and life on the mountain.

Back in the village, the cultural immersion deepens. Participate in a hands-on coffee experience at a local plantation — roast, grind, and brew your own cup the traditional way, accompanied by song and laughter. Savor a freshly prepared traditional lunch featuring local dishes and taste the famous homemade banana wine, crafted using generations-old techniques.
