Mbali Mbali Mahale (formerly Kungwe Beach Lodge) comprises ten tents all raised on wooden platforms overlooking the lake, each with twin or double beds, a shower (with hot water), a flush toilet and a verandah with uninterrupted views of the lake and its breathtaking sunsets. Tents are made of heavy-duty canvas material with ample space to relax and walk around.

The communal areas of Mbali Mbali Mahale consist of a lounge, dining area, library, and cushioned lounge beds. In the evenings, after a hard day’s climbing hills and tracking chimpanzees, a campfire is usually lit on the beach for guests to gather for drinks and a snack as the sun sets over the lake.

Meals at the camp are a sumptuous affair: breakfasts are English style with emphasis on tropical fruits and juices, while three-course dinners often include delicious lake fish caught by the local fishermen.
