Mara Under Canvas

Mara Under Canvas is the closest camp to the river Mara where each year enormous columns of wildebeest cross the river, negotiating the jaws of the hungry crocodiles, in order to get to the pastures on the other side in what could be considered the climax of the Great Migration.

This luxury temporary camp is open from June to November. It allows visitors to be in the proximity of the Great Migration and to be able to explore remote areas and the beautiful settings of Seregenti with a large amount of resident fauna. The camp has only ten double tents and a family tent which assures the intimacy and exclusivity of this intense experience.

Mara Mara Tented Lodge

A modern, clean-lined tented camp with a traditional African feel, Mara Mara Tented Lodge has one of the Serengeti’s most coveted locations.

Just a short drive takes you from the serenity of camp to the exciting drama of the annual Wildebeest Migration’s most anticipated chapter: the river crossings. Arriving around June – but sometimes sooner or later, depending on regional rainfall – the wildebeest herds have to cross the rivers in order to reach the Masai Mara on the other side; giant crocodiles have been waiting patiently and the result is nature at its most heart-stopping.

The lodge lies under trees and has romantic river views. Each of the 15 tents has an en suite bathroom with a flush toilet, basin and shower, and you can choose between king-sized or twin beds. The camp uses solar power and has a back-up generator so there is always lighting in your tent.

Little Oliver’s boasts five separate, thatched en suite tents in total, all with fantastic views with king-sized beds with the option of being twins and doubles. One of the tents can be made into a triple on request.

Each tent features an indoor and outdoor shower. Bathrooms are en suite with an indoor shower; the outdoor shower offers great views of the surrounding area.

The bathrooms are fully plumbed with running water and flush loos. Hot water is always available and provided by solar heaters.

Lemala Tented Camp

Lemala Ngorongoro is intimately set in a delightful ancient acacia forest close to the rim of the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater. As it is located next to the quiet Lemala crater access road on the eastern side, a key advantage of staying at Lemala Ngorongoro is the quick and easy drive down on to the crater floor in the morning.

Lemala Ngorongoro Tented Camp has 9 spacious tents that are positioned carefully to provide privacy and with minimal impact on the pristine forest environment.

They accommodate two queen-size beds, and as it can get cool on the Ngorongoro Crater rim at night, little luxuries like warm winter-weight duvets, hot water bottles and gas heaters ensure a cosy night’s sleep.

The roomy en-suite bathrooms contain a dressing area, flush toilet and a large safari-style shower.

Lemala Mara & Ndutu Camp

One authentic mobile tented camp, but in two locations, Lemala Ndutu & Lemala Mara move north and south with the seasons to ensure guests enjoy ringside seats to the spectacle of the magnificent wildebeest migration year-round. Both are setup in sublime locations offering a high quality safari experience with excellent guiding.

The 12 tents of Lemala Mara Tented Camp are set up under large Euclea trees in the heart of the best game viewing area of the Northern Serengeti between July and October.

It’s very close to the Mara River, but yet the camp is far enough away to remain discreet and not interrupt wildlife behavior as the wildebeest mass along the steep banks during their frantic crossing on their way north to the Maasai Mara.

Here, in this immense remote wilderness, guests can enjoy fabulous landscapes and terrific game viewing with practically no crowds. Resident wildlife numbers are always high, but nothing compared to the dramatic scenes during the migration as tens of thousands of animals gather to then plunge into the crocodile-infested river.

Lemala Kuria Hills Lodge

Lemala Kuria Hills Lodge is remotely located in the Wogakuria Hills of the Northern Serengeti. A scenic region characterized by grassy rolling hills, open woodland and tree-lined watercourses, it is a habitat that attracts wildlife throughout the year.

Lemala Kuria Hills is in close proximity to the Mara River on the Serengeti’s border with Kenya’s Maasai Mara, so is also within the main corridor of the world-famous wildebeest migration between July and October.

Large  granite  boulders  and  kopjes  are  the  prominent  feature  of  Lemala Kuria  Hills, and  each  of  the  15 spacious,  glass-fronted  tented  suites  has been discreetly set amongst the giant rocks to ensure maximum privacy and spectacular views from the open decks.

Each suite has an elegant and contemporary design, with comfortable, modern interiors enhanced by authentic African touches. The public areas are dominated by magnificent kopjes, and guests can enjoy the broad views of the grasslands from the bar, sitting and dining areas and swimming pool.

Lemala Ewanjan Camp

Each tent is fitted with two queen-size beds with warm duvets, a flush toilet, large safari-style shower, plentiful running water, wooden storage cabinets and flooring, 24-hour solar lighting and outside loungers from which to enjoy early morning teas and coffees and refreshing afternoon gin and tonics.
