Kirurumu Camp is located about a 30 minute drive from Manyara airstrip, and two hours from Arusha. The site consists of 27 permanent tented rooms all with wooden decked balconies and most of which overlook the spectacular view which the bar also boasts.

Because the location is outside of the National Park, Kirurumu can offer botanical walks with the hugely knowledgeable Siyanga and Maggie who will teach you about the medicinal uses of plants from the surrounding trees. You can also hire bikes and explore everything the local town has to offer.

The whole camp feels perfectly at home in its environment with the use of natural materials and subtle bushy walkways – a feeling which is complimented by the sound of many different bird species bathing in the waterholes which surround the dining area.

Kichaka Frontier Camp

This pioneer style camp is the main base of the Kichaka Expeditions operations and as close as we could get to calling a ‘home’.  Our seasonal Frontier camp has a ‘leave no trace’ doctrine. Essentially there are no permanent fixtures here, the entire operation can and does occasionally relocate to completely new areas leaving absolutely no sign that man was there in the first place.

About as comfortable as it is possible to get in such isolation, the seasonal camp has 3 en-suite spacious, open, airy and well furnished tents holding a maximum of only 8 guests at a time providing one of Africa’s more intimate bush experiences and a comfortable base to explore the surrounding wildlife and terrain by both foot and vehicle.

The camp is backed up with a large and well appointed mess tent where guests can lounge away swapping the days stories over ice cold beverages and three-course meals while being attended to by our hosts and their team of friendly and enthusiastic staff.

Kiba Point Selous

Kiba Point is our private camp in the Selous Game Reserve; a totally exclusive little retreat in the heart of one of the most game-rich areas. With family, or a group of friends, safari life doesn’t get much better than a few days here.

The lodge is set back off the river, with only 4 impressively large and open-fronted suites. Bathrooms are bush deluxe, with flush toilets, indoor and outdoor showers and hot and cold water as and when you want.

Each room has its own plunge pool set into the edge of the deck, and there is also a large pool at the main thatched mess, where you can also sink into comfortable sofas and chairs for an afternoon of general laziness.

Kiba Point has its own small team of guides and staff, all of whom can help you plan your activities. Head out every day either on foot, by boat or by vehicle – as you want and when you want – that’s the beauty of your own private camp, and we think it’s pretty special.

The camp offers comfortable accommodation together with the unique opportunity to enjoy a real safari experience on a camp. In its comfortable tents one will feel completely immersed in the surroundings and one can enjoy the rich animal life and vegetation of the area.

An original form of accommodation which resembles the old camps of the first explorers in Africa, with all the commodities of today.

Located a two hour drive along a panoramic route from the Olduvai Museum and the river Grumeti, two of the indispensable visits for all travellers to Tanzania.

The camp has been designed to cause a minimum impact on the environment. All of the infrastructure is mobile and the philosophy of the company is not to leave anything behind.

Katavi Wildlife Camp

Katavi Wildlife Camp is set amongst the trees that fringe the Katisunga plains. From your vantage point either on the veranda of your tent or from the upper viewing lounge you can join the predators watching the plains game during the day. Then anticipate the excitement of the predators hunting their dinner as the game move back to the trees in the evenings.

Katavi consists of 6 large Meru-style tents, overlooking the plain; each built on a raised wooden platform, and sheltered from the midday sun by a traditionally thatched roof. Each tent is en-suite, and has it’s own large veranda with hammock and chairs. There are four double tents and two twin tents, and all have a safe.

After dark, guests are escorted to and from their tent by Askari.
